Author Shwe Yay Htin Htin (ေရႊေရးထင္ထင္) has entered the world of acting with Director Thein Han (Phoenix)’s movie; a satirical of marriage by the name of “Rolling Marble Ball Without a Home”. She has said that crossing over to the acting profession from a writing profession took a lot of courage and that she was initially hesitant.
She talks about how she finally got to shooting for a film. In fact, she had been planning with Director U Thein Han (ဒါရိုက္တာသိန္းဟန္) for a long time to make a movie together. But the process that took a long time was trying to select a film that would be suitable for her. Now, she can confidently say that this debut film she chose is indeed very fitting for her. However, she did take a very long time thinking and trying to make her decision before taking it on. Finally, a lot of persuasion that she received convinced her to start filming for this movie.
Currently, by the suggestion of Director Wine (ဒါရိုက္တာဝိုင္း), she is taking performance art training from teacher U Oone Khine. Performance art is a lot deeper and more difficult than she had thought. Also, because she had no prior interest or passion in acting, when she became an actor, she felt her lack of commitment to her role made her rather weak and out of place in terms of action, gestures, and speech delivery. She also announces that her entry into the acting world does not mean she will be abandoning her initial line of work; writing. She plans to still maintain herself as a writer to the best of her ability and keep on working hard in creating her own stories. In the same way, she will give the same hard work to her second footstep in profession; acting.
Shwe Yay Htin Htin made her writing debut with her first novel “A New Golden Lotus”. Her second novel “Children’s Short Story” will be released in March. She is also working on her third novel for publication.
